Without any hassle make this rich Italian Focaccia bread

Ingredients


All purpose flour - 500 grams

Dried yeast - 14 grams

Sugar - 2 tsp

Extra virgin Olive Oil - 1 cup

Kosher Salt - 1 tbs

Procedure:


* In a cup add 40ml of warm water

* Add yeast & sugar and let it rest for 10 minutes

* In a bowl add all the above ingredients including the yeast water, add remaining water to make the dough (approx. 400 ml)

* Drizzle some oil in the bowl and let the dough rest for 40 minutes

* After 40 minutes with wet hand add 1tbs of olive oil and stretch the dough and fold the sides to the opposite direction

* Cover it and let it rest for another 40 minutes.

* Repeat the stretch and fold step and transfer the dough to a greased baking tray ,

* Cover it and let it rest for another 40 minutes in the baking tray

* Preheat the oven for 170 degree celsius

* Make some dimples on the dough with your fingers and drizzle a mixture of 1/4 cup of olive oil and 2 tbs of water over it

* Spiracle some garlic, fresh thyme or rosemarie herb and Kosher salt

* Bake the focaccia bread for 45 minutes or until golden brown



  • The delicious, crispy and Classic Focaccia Bread is ready to be served as a side dish or as a Sandwich bread with pesto n tomato.


Customise / Variation / Suggestion :


Over the dough lots of different toppings can be added such as black and green olives, red sliced onions, green and red bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, pesto, basil leaves, garlic and any herbs of your choice.
