Festive mood? Make These Gingerbread - Crinkle Cookies



Ingredients:


1 1/2 cup salted butter (room temperature)

1 1/4 cup light brown sugar

1 tbs vanila extract

2 eggs room temperature

4 1/2 cup of Apf (add more if needed)

1 tsp baking soda

1 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder

1/2 tsp ginger powder

1/2 tsp cardamom powder

1/4 tsp all spice powder

1/4 tsp nutmeg powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/8 tsp black pepper


Procedure:


* Take a large bowl, beat the sugar, butter and vanilla extract till they are light and fluffy

* Add the eggs one at a time

* Mix them until they are evenly combined

* Add the rest of the ingredients and mix till it forms a dough (add more flour if needed)

* If you wish to make cookies, then spread some flour on your working surface and roll the * dough till it has a 1/4 inch of thickness

* Shape them as you prefer

* Carefully transfer them on the baking tray lined with parchment paper

* Repeat the same process with the rest of the dough

* Cover the tray and freeze them for 15 - 20 minutes

* Preheat the oven and place the tray the inside at 170 degree celsius for 8 -10 minutes or until golden brown

* Remove them and let them cool completely on wire rack.


Variation:


* You can also make small balls with the dough and coat them with cocoa powder or icing sugar before baking

* Bake them for 10 - 12 minutes at 170 degree celsius or until it starts browning

* Remove them on the wire rack and let them cool completely

* You can also substitute all spices by adding same quantity of Indian tea masala and enjoy this one of the best cookies with all the members of the family during the festive season.
